Because eclipses happen in 18 – 24 month long cycles in pairs of signs, there can be overlap between the the signs as one series ends and the next begins, such as we are experiencing right now.

By the Fagan Bradley sidereal zodiac, we are coming to the end of the Cancer-Capricorn series which began February 2017 and will end January 2019, and beginning the Gemini-Sagittarius series, which began July 12, 2018, just two weeks ago, and will end July 4 2020.

A brief review of Eclipses

Eclipse season is a time of change, whether through endings or new beginnings, felt most keenly by those with a planet or point near the eclipse degree.

We may still be affected if the eclipse falls in our sun or rising sign, even if we don’t share a degree with the eclipse.

The change an eclipse brings is typically tied to events outside our ability to control–we can only accommodate the changes in our lives willingly or unwillingly, with acceptance or with resistance.

Eclipses are many times stronger than a regular new or full moon, and they can activate the sign and house opposite from the one in which they occur.

Eclipses expose what’s hidden from your awareness (including secrets) and bring to light essential information you need.

Read on for the dates to watch for that information to be revealed…

How to know if this eclipse season affects you directly

Let’s talk about how to know if these particular eclipses affect you directly.

You’ll need your sidereal natal chart to check the following degrees and signs. We’ll go through each of the July 2019 eclipses one at a time.

Degrees and dates to check:

July 2, 2019 new moon solar eclipse in sidereal Gemini, 15° 37’

Check air and fire signs. Look for a planet or point at 15 or 16 degrees of Gemini, Libra, Aquarius, Sagittarius, Aries, or Leo. Planets and points within +/- 3 to 5 degrees either side may be considered, although the effect will be greater the closer they are.

The July 2 eclipse news may be delivered at the following dates:

30 April 2019

4 May 2019

1 – 2 June 2019

2 July 2019

31 July 2019

2 August 2019

30 August 2019

2-3 September 2019

If you have Gemini sun or rising, or a planet or point at 15° or 16° of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces, experiences brought up by this eclipse will be more challenging and bring greater growth and learning potential.

The eclipse degree will be reactivated for you at the new moons in July & October 2019 and the new moons in January, April & July 2020.

If you have a planet or personal point at 15° or 16° of Leo, Libra, Aquarius, or Aries, this will likely be a less challenging eclipse for you, but will require more conscious effort and action on your part if you wish to use the eclipse energy for an initiation or to effect permanent change in your life.

The eclipse degree will be reactivated for you at the new moons in September & November 2019 and again at the new moons in March & May 2020.

July 16, 2019 full moon lunar eclipse in Sagittarius, 29° 03’

Check fire and air signs. Look for a planet or point at 29 degrees Sagittarius. Leo, Aries, Gemini, Libra, or Aquarius. Planets and points within +/- 3 to 5 degrees either side may be considered, although the effect will be  greater the closer they are.

The July 16, 2019 eclipse news may be delivered at the following dates:

14 – 15 May 2019

18 May 2019

15 – 16 June 2019

16 July 2019

15 August 2019

17 August 2019

13 – 14 September 2019

17 September 2019

If you have Sagittarius sun or rising, or a planet or point at 29° Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo, or Pisces, experiences brought up by this eclipse will be more challenging and bring greater growth and learning potential.

The eclipse degree will be reactivated for you at the full moons in July & October 2019 and the full moons in January, April & July 2020.

If you have a planet or personal point at 29° of Aries, Leo, Libra, or Aquarius, this will likely be a less challenging eclipse for you, but will require conscious effort and action on your part if you wish to use the eclipse energy like we said before.

The eclipse degree will be reactivated for you at the full moons in September & November 2019 and again at the full moons in March & May 2020.

“It is clearly evident that most events of a widespread nature draw their causes from the enveloping heavens.”

PTOLEMY

Finally, if you have a planet or point within +/- 5 degrees of any of these eclipses, or making a major aspect with an eclipse within +/- 3 degrees, then:

Pay attention to the relevant dates for events to happen. Also, watch the new or full moons noted during the coming twelve months when the relevant eclipse is reactivated, as further developments may occur which move you further into the process of adjusting to change.

about me

My astrological explorations began in 1994 and have taken me on an amazing, decades-long journey of discovery beginning with the teachings of Sybil Leek and continuing with those of Joanna Woolfolk, Nicholas Campion, Max Heindel, Ptolemy, Susan Miller, Carol Rushman, Steven Forrest, Cyril Fagan, Robert Powell, and Dane Rudhyar, to name just a few. I began reading privately for family and close friends in 2003 and following a profoundly transformational spiritual experience opened my practice to the public through Mystick Physick in 2014.

Now more than ever I see the need in the world for the life and soul guidance that astrology can offer to those who seek to understand its sublime language. Collectively we are waking up and determined to find meaning and purpose in our daily lives. This is the gift that astrology offers us.

I’m Phaedra, astrologer and artist of Mystick Physick. I make my home in Idaho’s gorgeous Treasure Valley with my husband of 20 years, our dog Rocket and cat Jet. In my natural habitat I can usually be found meditating, continuing my ongoing astrological explorations, painting to the astrological rhythms of the solar system, or reading about the latest discoveries in the science of consciousness or astrophysics. You can find me at phaedrapaints.com and mystickphysick.com.
