JANUARY 2018

Taurus Sun
Taurus Rising

An income source may be coming to an end at the start of the month, or, if you took steps to begin a side hustle at the new moon in Gemini back in June, then you may finally begin seeing the payoff now.

Remember that some of us could be receiving eclipse news around this time, so if you have a planet or personal point at 16° (or 17°) of Cancer or of a water or earth sign–the same as the eclipse degree for the lunar eclipse coming at the end of January–keep watchful for news.

Uranus stations direct on the 2nd, bringing surprises and unexpected events to those with a planet or personal point at 29° Pisces. Use the coming ten and 1/2 weeks to set in motion your most important plans for the coming year.

Recall that a retrograde planet is considered to be in a weakened state, and that we spend far more time with at least one planet (if not more) retrograde than with all of them direct. When they are all direct often the window isn’t this big.

Take advantage and make your most important initiations during the new moons mid January and mid February, and roll out new projects and partnerships at the full moon at the end of January and the beginning of March.

The first week of January is a powerful time to make progress toward your financial goals, but only if you take action. Take steps to put a debt management or investment plan in place.

Mercury enters Sagittarius January 7th, possibly bringing financial news your way in the coming three weeks. The first chance he’ll do so comes near the 13th, delivering news about a financial obligation or commitment. If you enter into an agreement near this date, it would be for the long term.

Uranus, the planet of surprises and sudden reversals of fortune, squares off with Venus, the planet of partnerships and profits at the same time, suggesting any agreement entered into could come back to surprise you later–and not necessarily in a good way. You may want to give this date some space if signing a contract or entering into an agreement this month.

“When Mars moves in to Scorpio on the 18th you’ll find partnership activities have the potential to give your career a boost or enhance your reputation in some way.”

Venus, your ruler, moves in to Capricorn on the 13th for the coming three and 1/2 weeks, shifting the focus of your attention to loftier considerations: higher education, travel, legal or publishing and broadcasting affairs.

The sun follows Venus just two days later, in time for the new moon to light your solar 9th House and set up the perfect opportunity to use this new moon to your advantage: you could apply for a certificate program or advanced degree, launch a legal case, begin making plans to travel to a foreign place or even begin writing a manuscript for a book.

When Mars moves in to Scorpio on the 18th you’ll find partnership activities have the potential to give your career a boost or enhance your reputation in some way.

Mercury gets down to business after the new moon, bringing news first from Neptune on the 19th, then from Pluto and Jupiter on the 24th and 25th and bringing more unexpected news on the 28th, just before he leaves for Capricorn.

Finally, the full moon of January 31st brings the first lunar eclipse of 2018, lighting your 3rd House of travel and communication. Something related to your neighborhood could be coming to a conclusion, like a project or activity, or a sibling may be moving away, for instance. Or, you could experience a culmination of an artistic or creative venture, especially writing, poetry, journaling or even composing.

Alternatively, you could feel an ebb of resources, attention or energy in areas of higher education, religion,or travel near this eclipse.

Whatever comes, if anything, it’s likely to be beyond your control or influence, you would simply have to adapt.

You’ll be most affected by this full moon lunar eclipse if you have a planet or personal point at 16° or 17° of water signs Cancer, Pisces, or Scorpio, or earth signs Capricorn, Virgo or Taurus.
