Leo Sun
Leo Rising

Communication, travel, partnership, business, obligations, and responsibilities all may be in a state of transition in the early days of November, dear Leo, as three planets make sign changes in the lead up to the November 4th full moon in fellow fire sign Aries.

First to make a sign change is Mercury, ruler of your solar 2nd and 11th Houses, moving into sidereal Scorpio on the 2nd and bringing news from your solar 4th House of home, family and real estate. You may be engaged in communication about a property matter, or regarding one or both parents during the following three weeks while Mercury tours your 4th House.

The next day Venus joins Jupiter and the sun in Libra, beginning her three and 1/2 week long visit in your 3rd House of local travel and communication. You could find yourself visiting beautiful places nearby, enjoying the local color, perhaps cooperating with siblings or neighbors, or even enjoying a new found artistic flair in the way you write under this influence.

Then on the 4th, Saturn finally returns to Sagittarius to resume his tour of your 5th House of creativity, romance and children from now until late January 2020.

Saturn will challenge you while he’s here, demanding that you demonstrate commitment in a love affair or to a child and develop the self discipline to put another’s needs before your own desire for attention and love.

You’ll be asked to demonstrate a level of selflessness you’ve never considered before which will ultimately require you to set your own ego (and feelings!) aside for the sake of those you love. You’ll be called on to develop a deeper empathy than any you might have experienced before and to recognize your own self-centered behaviors.

This transit lasts more than two years–Saturn’s lessons are long term and last a lifetime–and the more you resist learning what he’s here to teach you, the harder this transit will be.

If you’re the creative type, you may find the demands of your commitments and responsibilities prevent you from spending much time at all on creative pursuits, especially those which serve solely to provide enjoyment to you.

Be willing to put your own creative drive on the back burner temporarily while you put others first, and Saturn will reward you before he leaves for good in January 2020. When he does finally go, you‘ll have six more months to enjoy Jupiter’s blessings in your 5th House of creativity, romance and children, so keep your eye on the prize–one of Saturn’s most important lessons is that of delayed gratification.

Mars enters Cancer on the 12th of July, marking a 6 week period of increased activity in your most private life. This is an excellent time for rest and relaxation. You can use this time to recharge your energy.

Good financial news comes your way near the 14th.

Philosophical or religious revelations could suddenly alter your spiritual beliefs or practices near the 17th.

If a partner is deceiving you near the 17th the results could be damaging to your reputation.

The sun enters Cancer the same day, marking the beginning of a 4-week period during which you’ll want to retreat from the world. You could find yourself involved in behind-the-scenes activities while the Sun tours Cancer.

The November full moon in Aries also happens on the 4th, the  same day Saturn changes signs. This full moon highlights your 9th House of long distance travel and communication, potentially bringing a foreign travel, immigration, publishing, broadcasting, higher education, or legal matter to a conclusion within +/- 4 days of the 4th.

It’s a challenging full moon for most every sign, with Pluto and Mars duking it out in a contest of wills. You could experience this power struggle as a conflict with a child or romantic partner over the control of finances or a possession. Remember what Saturn is here to teach you.

If you’re the gambling sort, this is a time when you’re better off playing it safe. Taking a financial risk at this time would be a dangerous gamble that isn’t likely to work out in your favor. It could cost you in the long run.

A child or lover could be influential in brightening your day come the 9th. Alternatively, if you’ve been working on a creative endeavor or participate in a competitive sport, a VIP could help you move forward locally by putting in a good word on your behalf.

The final Saturn-Uranus trine in a series which began December 24th of last year reaches exact on the 11th of November. This series of trines affected readers with the sun or ascendant in a water or fire sign. The water signs have already felt the effects of this transit, as their turn came last December, but fire signs Aries, Leo and Sagittarius first felt this in late May of this year when Saturn was retrograde and will feel the final changes brought about by this aspect now, in November. The effects will be felt from November 3rd through the 18th, but they will be strongest on the 11th.

This is an aspect which can set the stage for you to safely experiment with new ways of doing the same old necessary things with successful results. You can introduce inventive new processes and exercise your genius without worrying so much about upsetting the apple cart.

You could experience a sudden revolution in thought affecting the underlying structure upon which everything you know about love, selflessness, risk-taking, or the creative process is built, and which permanently changes how you understand one or more of these concepts. Whatever happens is likely to happen unexpectedly and bring lasting, positive change.

Longstanding traditions may be thrown out the window in favor of new ideas with the power to establish more innovative traditions which serve you far better in the long term. It’s possible this stroke of genius which inspires such dramatic change comes about due to an experience with a foreign culture, something you learn in a course of study, through philosophical explorations, or a religious experience. You’ll feel this most strongly if you have a planet or personal point at 1° or 2° of Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius,

If this is the case, you may find that Saturn’s lessons for you over the coming years will relate to integrating this new perspective and understanding into your life and relationships with a lover or child.

“if you’ve been working on a creative endeavor or participate in a competitive sport, a VIP could help you move forward by putting in a good word on your behalf.”

The greater and lesser benefics, Jupiter and Venus, meet up in your 3rd House of local travel, writing, and communication on November 13th, imbuing your interactions with neighbors or siblings with a cooperative, harmonious, and generous air. If you are working on a writing project of some sort, this is a great time to spend writing, as your words will flow with beauty, balance and abundance under this influence.

You can use this energy to your benefit on the 12th and 14th, too.

Mercury sends a challenge to Neptune, the planet of inspiration, the very same day, so if you’re a creative writer and struggling to capture your muse, do what you can and come back and revise your work on the 16th, when Venus sends Neptune a lovely invitation.

Be careful not to read into the words of a partner or parent near this time, as overreacting or fixating on a fantasy or false narrative is easy to get caught up in, especially right now while Mercury is out of bounds for several weeks. You could have a misunderstanding that affects an important relationship, so take the time to ask for clarification if you need it. Better safe than sorry.

The Mercury Retrograde Survival Guide

This 33 page guide is filled with everything you need to know to rock any retrograde!

Mercury enters the shadow of his December 3rd retrograde on the 14th, while he’s out of bounds, making the coming three weeks an excellent time to make a plan for putting the retrograde to use, while Mercury is slowing down.

He’ll be retracing his steps through Sagittarius and Scorpio this time, and any Mercury ruled work you do between now and December 3rd may come up for revision during his retrograde. This includes mental activities like analysis and research, writing, travel related activities, communication, sales, and commerce.

Prepare now, and you’ll have a much easier time navigating the retrograde when it comes. You can download a free excerpt from my ebook, The Mercury Retrograde Survival Guide, for all the guidance you need to help you get safely–and sanely–through any Mercury retrograde cycle. If you do have a miscommunication near the 13th, you have an opportunity to mend the relationship at the 16th, when Neptune is cooperating with Venus and words come a little easier.

You could get news regarding an income opportunity near the 17th, possibly from a parent, or even for work you can do from your home office. Alternatively, you may purchase an exciting new addition for your home.

The new moon in Scorpio on the 18th activates your 4th House of home, family and real estate, bringing an opportunity to begin  a new activity with your family or parents, or to change something about your living environment or situation.

This is a challenging new moon for all signs, though as Scorpio’s co-rulers square off in the heavens, causing tension between your 2nd House of income and expenses and your 5th House of romance, creativity and children. If a new family activity or home improvement project involves a significant expense, it could cause tension with an important romantic partner.

Likewise, if you need to move an aging parent in with you in order to see to their well-being–know that such a move is likely to transform the family dynamics, requiring major adjustments and additional expenses. The best approach is to involve everyone in the decision making as much as is feasible and to manage expectations from the outset. Get input from the entire family so everyone feels heard, and work toward a consensus so you have the buy in of every family member.

If you have an unorthodox proposal, save your pitch for the 21st, when you’ll have a better chance of support from a romantic partner or child whose cooperation you’ll need.

Neptune stations direct the next day, on the 22nd, so if a partnership matter or joint project has seemed stalled for the past five months, you’ll find it easier to make progress in the coming weeks.

Hidden information, secrets or deceptions can come to light when Neptune stations, a possibility if you have a planet or personal point at 16° or 17° degrees Aquarius. Check your natal chart to see if you will be directly affected.

You could get unexpected news from far away near the 25th, when Mercury sends a friendly missive to Uranus in your 9th House of long distance travel and communication just before he moves into Sagittarius for a 2 week stay.

Retrograde motion will bring Mercury back to Scorpio for nearly four weeks in early December, before he makes his return visit to Sagittarius after the new year. This is a time when you’re likely to find yourself revisiting projects and redoing work you thought you’d finished.

Venus moves into Scorpio on the 27th, beginning her three and 1/2 week tour of your 4th House of home and family, bringing a renewed spirit of cooperation to family life and an opportunity for all Leos to beautify their surroundings.

Finally, on the 28th Mercury conjoins Saturn in your romance and creativity sector, giving you the perfect opportunity for a prolonged heart to heart with a lover or child, dear Leo. If you make a love commitment today, you’ll be in it for the long haul.

Alternatively, you could use this time for a sustained and productive creative writing session.

Pay attention to what comes up on the 28th, as you may find yourself having to revisit the subject until it’s been refined and polished to Saturn’s satisfaction.

Mercury conjoins Saturn on the 28th, the first in a series of three conjunctions between now and early 2018. While Saturn and Mercury typically only meet up once a year, Mercury’s retrograde will have him checking in with the taskmaster planet while first direct, then retrograde, and finally direct once again.
